CINCINNATI, OH (April 25, 2003) - The C-MATT^TM Prevention Mattress from Casco Manufacturing Solutions is designed specifically for long term care and acute care facilities where residents and patients are immobile, vulnerable to developing decubitus pressure ulcers or have vascular problems.

Casco, with 20 years experience in therapeutic and foam support surface design, conducted extensive research and developed exacting specifications for the C-MATT Prevention to arrive at the optimal combination of materials and components to assure maximum performance.

The result is a superior foam mattress with interface pressure readings at the top performance range of mattresses available today. The C-MATT Prevention foam core uses a 2" resilient base foam, with a 2" thick mid-zone for torso and seat support and a 4" thick special heel section comprised of 2" of pin-convoluted, high resiliency foam over a 2" visco-elastic conforming foam.

All foam components are treated with an EPA approved Ultra-Fresh^TM anti-microbial that helps maintain the hygienic capabilities of the mattress and meets standards set by Ventron test method B-20 (NGCA) and ASTM G-21 (NG).

The C-Matt Prevention top cover, constructed of omni-directional, polyurethane coated Dartex fabric, is fluid-proof with all seam radio frequency (RF) welded, is non-allergenic, has antimicrobial properties that combat mildew and fungus, and exhibits a high MVP transmission rate of 400-500 g/m� per 24 hours. In addition, the top cover features a built-in waterfall flap covering a single zipper that prevents fluid intrusion into the mattresses foam core.

The bottom cover, made of durable tri-laminate Herculex II^® vinyl fabric, features antimicrobial protection that prevents the growth of fungus and mildew, and uses a special vented coverlet assembly that prevents any moisture buildup. By applying the latest sealed seam radio frequency (RF) technology, Casco ensures that all bottom cover seams are completely fluid proof. Its surface is easily disinfected after change of patient using the facility's guidelines and an EPA-registered disinfectant.

A special moisture vapor barrier sheet prevents moisture build-up and provides a smooth interface between the foam core and top ticking. All C-MATT Prevention Mattresses are in full compliance with flammability standards, meeting California Technical Bulletin 117 and the option flame barrier feature meets California Technical Bulletin 129, ASTM E1590 and UL 1895.
