Radio
frequency welding (RF welding)
Radio frequency welding,
also known as RF welding, dielectric welding, or high frequency welding,
is the process of fusing materials together by applying radio frequency
energy.
Radio frequency welding
is used to join or assemble various thermoplastic materials such as PVC
(polyvinylchloride), polyurethanes, and others. The resulting seam is
impervious to fluids as no needle holes are created. Manufacturers of
healthcare, medical, industrial and consumer products alike use radio
frequency welding to produce products where a strong fluid proof seal
is needed.
Casco currently produces
healthcare mattresses with fluid proof seams using a variety of materials.
Fluid proof mattresses reduce the chance of the interior being soiled
due to fluid transfer, which can cause odors and damage.
Our expertise in radio
frequency welding has resulted in innovative advances in tooling, which
has led to numerous mattress design improvements.
